There are many cat cafes in Seoul. If you enjoy getting up close and personal with our furry friends, you’ll have a perfect time. So, which cat cafe should you visit? One South Korean cat cafe that is centrally located inn Myeongdong, is Cats Playground.

Cats Playground
Address: 37-14 Myeongdong 8-gil, Seoul
Entry fee: 13,000 Won (at time of publishing)
Opens: 12.00 (midday)
Time limit: None. You are free to stay as long as you like.
What to know
On entry to Cats Playground, remove your shoes and slip on some slippers. After paying the entry fee, put all your belongings into some plastic bags so nothing gets wet.
Wet? Yes, some cats get a little overexcited seeing you there.
Once you’re all bagged up, enjoy a free drink which is part of the entry fee.
Then you are free to roam, take photos (no flash), play, pat and interact with over 50 different cats of varying varieties. Most cats are friendly and inquisitive.
There’s even a playpen where you can sit and grab a toy and play with cats or, if you’re really brave, let them sit on your lap. But be aware they may not want to leave if they get comfortable.
I enjoyed watching the cat’s entertaining antics. One naughty feline went into battle with a water bottle. You can guess who lost and there was water everywhere. Another pair of cats were having a friendly fight on the nearest scratch pad. Growls could be heard throughout the cafe which had everyone laughing.

Stars of the show
The stars of the show are definitely the cats. Each cat has its own personality. Some are asleep like this one, living their best life.

Others roam the cafe looking for food. Always the optimists. Sorry, no food here, buddy. 🥓 He wasn’t impressed.

Some just don’t care that you are there. They sit on tables to relax and enjoy the view. This is my table now and I’m watching you human. 🛏️

Some take their job really seriously. Like this cat on the counter guarding the cafe from undesirables and predators. He was part of a tag team of cat cafe guards. Each one taking turns to protect us.

If you’re a cat lover, you will have a great time at Cats Playground. Its layout is like your standard cat cafe. The cats here are well looked after. They were reasonably well behaved but expect the unexpected. Cat owners will understand what I mean.
If you are looking for something different to do while in Seoul, I highly recommend a visit to the Cats Playground. An afternoon of entertainment is guaranteed.
Cuteness overload. 😻
